iHealth Centre offers a diverse range of allied health professionals to provide you with specialised, evidence-based, and coordinated care.
Your mental health has a substantial impact on all aspects of your life, such as school and work performance, relationships with family and friends, and your ability to live a healthy and meaningful life. At iHealth Centre, we prioritise both reactive and proactive mental healthcare. We have three highly skilled mental health practitioners, Dr Morgan Powell (GP with additional mental health training), Dr Jayne Orr (Clinical Psychologist), and Chris Hepperlin (Clinical Psychologist) who can help you improve your mental health in a safe, non-judgemental and supportive environment.
Nutrition and Dietetics
Diet plays a major role in your health and wellbeing at all stages of your life. Eating well contributes to quality of life, mental health, and immune function, and lowers risk of chronic disease and premature mortality. At iHealth Centre, we have an accredited dietician, Eleni Zeniou, who is skilled at working with you to develop realistic and personalised nutrition plans that flow with your busy schedule. Eleni provides expert nutrition and diet advice for people of all ages and health conditions, including diabetes, obesity, cancer, heart disease, renal disease, gastro-intestinal diseases, and food allergies. Furthermore, Eleni specialises in Fertility dietetics, utilising strong scientific evidence to support women through their fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum journey.
More specifically, our Paediatric Occupational Therapists:
- Help children to stay on track with developmental milestones. This might include motor skills which support Self care (dressing, feeding, managing the toilet); Play and manipulation of toys; Functional school tasks such as cutting and writing
- Help children develop skills relating to positive behaviours including self regulation.
- They may assist in supporting children who have sensory processing challenges which impact upon their life skills and energy levels.
- Support and educate parents and carers to ensure a collaborative approach.
Speech pathologists diagnose communication disorders and use evidence-based treatment methods to optimise communication skills. Our onsite Speech Pathologist, Susannah McKelvey is a certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia and has special interests in developmental language disorders, dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, alternative and augmentative communication, fluency disorders, paediatric feeding, as well as parent and professional training.
Our onsite, accredited respiratory and sleep scientist, Shane Power, offers an array of clinical investigations aimed at improving your lung function and sleep quality. Services include lung function testing, allergy testing, and home sleep studies.
If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, it is important to equip yourself with information to prevent serious complications and optimise your health and wellbeing. Our onsite Diabetes Educator, Nicole McClure, is an experienced primary healthcare nurse and credentialled diabetic educator. As a specialist in Diabetes, Nicole can assist you in gaining the knowledge and self-management skills to manage your diabetes and prevent negative health outcomes.
