When to book a psychology or counselling appointment

Speak to a psychologist or counsellor when emotional struggles, stress, or relationship issues last more than a few weeks, feel too hard to manage alone, or start to negatively impact your daily life, work, sleep, or health.

It is never too early to ask for help.

Strong emotions

If you are feeling very sad, angry, worried, or hopeless most of the time.

Daily trouble

If you are finding it hard to focus, do your job, or care for yourself.

Life changes

If you are going through a tough loss, grief, separation, or major life stress.

Negative habits

If you find yourself using alcohol, drugs, or food to numb your feelings.

Body signs

If you are experiencing ongoing sleep problems, headaches, or a fast heartbeat with no clear medical cause.

Working with your GP for coordinated care

Our GPs and mental health practitioners work together, where appropriate and with consent, to ensure your mental health support aligns with your overall healthcare plan.

This approach means care that is better coordinated around your overall health needs and a clearer picture of your wellbeing.

Mental health support from our on-site practitioners

Our on-site allied health practitioners provide a supportive space to talk through what’s been happening and find practical ways forward.

You can book online, or contact reception if you’re unsure which appointment type is right for you.
